I Love You More Than Red Licorice

Dear Husband,

I know I'm not easy to live with. I know. I am cranky and edgy and when I don't get any alone time my bad qualities (like the crankiness and the edgyness) come out in full force like kids with marshmallows on sticks around a campfire. I know.

Sometimes I get frustrated with the daily grind. The dishes. The laundry. The dog hair that multiplies overnight after I've just swept and mopped the kitchen and vacuumed every inch of carpet in the house.

Sometimes I get irritated because nobody else seems to care about putting the laundry away except for me. And I do care about it, but after I've collected, sorted and folded it - I kinda feel done. I mean, isn't that why we had kids in the first place? To put away our laundry, or at least theirs?

Or did we have them to mow the lawn?

I can never remember.

Even though I feel at the end of my rope sometimes, I love our life. Even on the worst of days, all I have to do is look around at the family we have created and I am at peace. They are all worth it. You are worth it. We are worth it.

I know sometimes I can be a tad high maintenance and come up with some hair-brained ideas, but you always support me. And when I asked you if you cared if TV cameras crashed the birthday party we were throwing for my Dad the other day, you went along with it, even though inside you were probably thinking I was nuts.

Because I know I was thinking I was nuts, that's for sure.

You always take care of us. You always make things "just right." Even though you had a TV camera in your face, you grilled our dinner, with a smile on your face, while the rest of us nervously figured out how to "act normal." You laughed as the girls (mom, Katie and I) danced to the Just Dance game on the Wii. You joined in as we all sang "Suite Judy Blue Eyes." And then you even did all of the dishes after everyone went home and I crashed into bed with my latest book.

You, sir, are a keeper.

As if I didn't know that after all these years.

So in case you didn't know, I love you more than red licorice. And that means a whole heckuva heckuvalot.

I am yours. You are mine. You are what you are.

Love,

Your Wife

Ummm.... I am totally stealing that entire post and giving it to Chad because it is EXACTLY like that! You wrote precisely what I would say if I were as awesome as you at putting my feelings into words! Word, girl! Thank you, so much, Carrie, for reminding me how much I do love my man and how nice it would be for him if I expressed it more. Hence, I am totally stealing your post and giving it to him! Tehehehe! You ARE so awesome!
