Portrait of a Lady

After throwing in the towel for the day and fixing myself a few Diet Cokes w/vodka (and not the top shelf kind either) and a lemon twist, I found the most awesome thing on the planet.

Ready?

It's 80 HOURS OF THE 80'S on VH1 Classic. I have never been so happy in my recent memory as I am right now.

Oingo Boingo, Ah-ha, Jane's Addiction (yup, I know - I would have them pegged for the nineties for sure, guess I fail that portion of the college of musical knowledge quiz, my husband would be so embarrassed), Scritti Politti, New Order, Michael Jackson (and not the pervy MJ), Madonna (and not the alien she has become as of late), Men at Work, Cyndi Lauper, Wham! . . .

Can a girl really ask for anything more?

And so yes, I sit her after a day of catching up on laundry, feeding my kids dinner out of a box and vegetables out of the freezer and being entertained by an old friend, VH1.

This is a portrait of a mom taking the day off, and don't you dare say she isn't a lady.

Have a little Kajagoogoo and RELAX like Frankie says, k?

Enjoy the Howard:

I sincerely apologize if this makes no sense to anyone other than me. It was, after all, the 80's.

I have only just started to watch the SECOND block of broadcasting, so I am up to Benatar and I recorded the WHOLE thing!

Do I like the 80's music? Maybe, check out http://www.rockingthe80s.blogspot.com

This programming by VH-1 Classic sure beat the crap out of their normal weekend stuff!

I wish I could say I'm too young to remember.

Oh Wham! How I loved you.

You are a woman after my own heart. Scritti Politti? They were one of my favorites! And who could forget Duran Duran? I wish I was there to hang with you and drink some "skinny bitches!" LOL

I tuned in periodically to this 80s lovefest.

It is the decade of music that will NEVER be surpassed.

And, coincidentally, this was also the time to celebrate Michael Jackson's 50th....although, I was crushing on him in the early 80s when he used to be a black guy. This new look where he tries to be Liza Minelli isn't workin for me.
