Hit the Road

Everyone knows that the weather in and around Seattle is, um, wet.

Sometimes I get fed up with the rainy stereotype and I find myself thinking "it's not that rainy here, people have it all wrong," but then I realize that it's perfectly fine if the rest of the world thinks western Washington is a soggy mess - that'll keep 'em away!

Well, the folks at the Great Wolf Lodge have found their niche. Where else can a soggy Seattle-ite go and walk around in a balmy 84 degrees in nothing more than a swimsuit cover-up?

You heard it right. 84 degrees.

Road Trip? Here we come.

Just call us the Griswalds.

We all know that a good road trip means fast food and napping, right?

Behold, the massive entry of the Great Wold Lodge! Look how tiny the minivan (not mine, btw) is!

Hoofing it to the lobby to check-in.

Wyatt is salivating over the wave pool - I don't blame him one bit!

The kiddie area - way cool for the under 5 set.

Daddy and Katie in the wave pool. She would not care a bit if we were in there with her not not - she wanted to just float in the waves . . . all I have to say about that is thank God for life jackets, and waterproof mascara.

Wyatt, crossing the lily pads.

We took this picture BEFORE we were exhausted, banged up and had eyes full of chlorine.

I can't wait to go back!

Wow! That place looks awesome! Once the littlest one is bigger, I think we'll be heading on a road trip ourselves. I still look forward to discovering the rest of Washington.

You guys look like you had a blast!

Done, already entered. I must admit it was sheer genius for someone to put an indoor waterpark in this area!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves!

Wait - all of those things are INSIDE the lodge!? That is the coolest place! Wish I didn't live 3,000 miles away!!

looks so fun, and reminds me of when I was a child my parents would take us on "mystery trips" and we wouldn't know where we were going until we got there. sometimes we would go to hotels like this. it was so fun! must start doing such things with MQ...
