Because inside every mom I call "friend" is a child of the 80's whose only responsibility is making sure she has enough Aquanet to last the month!

Hey sis, I'm not sure why Mom insisted I read this particular blog, except I may have expressed a slight adversion to aquanet in my youth.

The English Beat have enjoyed a resurgence of late, no doubt due to the fashion recycling of the 80s style, and music as well. I mean they aren't really hip anymore, but they do have a lot of hip people still enjoying them-case in point they played a popular live set on KEXP (source of all things musically hip in Seattle) a couple months ago. The Beat.

Anywho, it's a great song, and very dated video!

I love this band and yeah, and they played Arlington's Riverfest in 2006! I can't believe that I missed them!

Sorry, it's probably my fault that you had such an aversion to Aquanet! You're probably allergic thanks to me.

But didn't the girls stop with the mall bangs by the time you were in high school?

Love you too.

My mom used to punish me by taking AWAY my hairspray! OH...the humanity! My poor "ceiling scrapers" could not stand at their crispy attention without the stuff!

(Ceiling scrapers being the cheesy tall bangs I work for hours to create!)
