I had to pick the boys up at the bus stop today in order to get to McRae's taekwondo practice by 4:00. It's always a struggle to get everything done on the days I am shuffling the kids to activities, which means that we have to cover a lot of ground while we're riding in the car. I find out how their day went, check the homework situation and hear all the latest about what's happening at their school.
Today was no different.
The boys jumped in the car, I threw McRae's uniform at him and instructed him to put it on as quickly as he could while still wearing his seat belt. And our daily "how was your day at school" conversation began.
"How was school today?" I asked Wyatt.
"Well," he starts off in such a serious tone. I was expecting to hear that his spelling test was difficult or perhaps he couldn't find the book he was looking for in the library. "Vanessa Hudgens got kicked off of the Disney Channel for being nude and drunk."
"Vanessa Hud . . ."
"Yes, okay I heard you correctly," I interrupted.
"Who told you that?"
Remind me to thank "Gabriela" the next time I am volunteering in class for educating my son on the finer points and pitfalls of being a teen celebrity. Thanks Gabby!
