Spring Has Sprung

Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't you define "Easter Bunny" as a cute, cuddly rabbit?

Therefore, someone dressed up as the "Easter Bunny" would evoke an image of a small-sized person dressed in a cute, furry, friendly looking costume that would not scare the children away, right?

Certainly not this:

It is amazing that only one girl in Katie's preschool class shed a tear when she saw the sinister Easter Bunny come in through the doors with his basket of eggs.

We sang songs with the Bunny.

We did the hokey pokey with the Bunny.

Some of us were brave enough to pose just long enough for a picture with the bunny before running into the safety of our mother's arms.

And the Bunny left. Without uttering a single word. Just a wave of his large, furried hand, and off he hopped. Possibly to inflict many emotional scars upon another preschool class elsewhere.

So, we high-talied our little behinds outside to search for eggs.

And many sugar-laden treats were found inside those eggs, which caused big, enormous smiles to spread out upon our wee little face.

Made us forget all about that scary bunny what's-his-name.

And since the month of April is upon us, and since today was April Fool's Day, we thought the weather man was kidding when he mentioned the possibility of snow in the "convergence zone" (which happens to be weather-speak for anything can happen here and I am not about to try and predict it) where we live.

Silly us.

This is my front yard. Exactly 20 minutes ago. I am soooooo not kidding.

Should be an interesting Spring Break, huh?

Holy demonic bunny...Donny Darko LIVES!

Maybe Easter really isn't all that removed from Halloween as a holiday after all...people rising from the grave and all that...

and of course, really freakin scary rabbits...with big sharp pointy teeth!

How funny that you mention this. Our 'hood does an egg hunt every year so someone bought a bunny costume for it. But the costume looks like an evil bunny on meth. Apparently it has scared the poo out of a few kids in the past. So now it just sits in someone's closet.

It's bad enough that that Easter bunny looked like it was on its way to a horror film but it didn't speak either?...Meh

We had snow the other day too. What is up with the weather this year?

I don't know what is scarier... A skinny, evil-eyed Easter Bunny or snow in my front lawn in April. Glad to say I don't have either!! (:

You are so right about the scary bunnies. They are enough to have kids in therapy for the rest of their lives....

More importantly - who would actually dress up like the bunny? Unemployed actor, student or sicko CSI style 'Plushies'....

I mean who is desperate enough to don the stinky fury suit and scare the children?

That is one scary bunny. Just be happy he didn't step out of his costume to reveal his skanky t-shirt, ankle monitoring bracelet and bottle of Southern Comfort tucked into his back pocket.
