"Good morning, how may we be of assistance?"
Oh, then I woke up and went to the real Fireman's Pancake Breakfast!
Hubby's Department held their annual pancake pig-out this morning. Being the good wifey that I am, I dragged my tired behind out of bed on a potentially lazy Saturday morning, kids, Kitchenaid (which they didn't end up needing), and all. I was somehow able to con my Dad in to accompanying us again this year. It is becoming quite a tradition with us now and I am forever indebted to him for helping out with the wrangling of the kiddos!
Funny thing is though, no matter now much free product and toys my kids receive from the PR people at these events, they still want MORE! They got glider airplanes of at least two varieties apiece, stickers, stress balls, hats and bouncy balls, pencils and still, we begged for more during a quick trip to the market for dinner essentials! "Come on Mom, can't I get a cool skull tattoo from the machine?"
They boys DID utilize their wonderful imaginations for an entire hour playing "firefighter" on the backyard play structure after their morning of inspiration. I wish this could happen every time we visit Daddy at work!
McRae donned rubber boots (yellow, of course), winter ski parka (it was sunny today), gloves, firehat and ropes of various lengths complete with carabeeners (what ensemble would be complete without those?). He and Wyatt lassoed the slide and tire swing with such force that I thought an eye would surely be falling out any moment. They ran around the yard attacking imaginary burning buildings and constructed a pretty good fort with the BBQ, yard recycler and picnic table. They played their hearts out and tumbled swiftly into bed without so much as a cross word or a "he's breathing too loud, I can't sleep".
Goodnight, you crazy fireboys!

Sounds like everyone had a great time. My middle boy wants to be a fireman when he grows up too! But what is it with all you gals and men in firemen's uniforms?! Sheesh!!!
If all the firemen looked like that I would so be a arsonist. Gotta match?
Pancakes and hot men? All in the same place? That sort of sounds like heaven to me. heehee
Graft is good. Firemen are good. Bare-chested, hot, sweaty, muscley firemenn are very very very good.
Thanks for the nice comment over at my place and for pointing the way back here. After this photo, I um...think it's time for bed.
Um... can I just say, "DELICIOUS!" (and I'm not talking flapjacks...)
Wow...nice little graphic there. I'm going to visit you more often. Can I request hot construction workers next?

p.S. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
yummm...i mean yummm, pancakes ;)
Shame on you! My hubby WAS sound asleep until I just shrieked at this pic!!! I know you live near me so where exactly is this exact firehouse because they certainly aren't on this side of the freeway!!!
Okay, I know you wrote something about a breakfast... But, honestly, you kind of lost me after that picture.
Good God Almight! Thaaaank you.
There's nothing better than a day that totally wears out the kids.
Great picture. What makes them even sexier is the fact that firemen are usually great around kids. When I taught in elementary school, the teachers would just ogle those poor guys while they taught the class about fire safety.
