Glitter, Glitter Everywhere!

I don't think I'll ever get all the glitter out of my carpet! But it was worth it. Katie had five of her friends over for a princess party this afternoon. After enjoying a catered snack of fruit, goldfish, assorted cheeses and apple juice, the girls decorated crowns and danced around the house like the royalty they are!

Katie and her cousin Lily waiting for the guests to arrive.

Three pretty princesses: Lila, Katie and Lily.

Katie, Lila, Lily and Allyson making crowns.

Laila, Alexa, Taylor, Lily, Katie, Allyson and Lila singing "Happy Birthday"!

Make a wish!

Oh, for the love of shoes! Katie admiring her new fancy shoes from Auntie Linda and Lila.

And when all the guests were gone, these girls were ready for a movie! Mom is looking frantically for her vacuum cleaner.

Damn, that is a good idea! I wish I'd thought of it before it was too late... my older kid (12) would prolly throw herself off the building if I "humiliated" her with the bare SUGGESTION of a princess party, and my 8-year-old would just roll her eyes at me... and ask for a Scooby Doo party instead.
Sigh.

Don't worry about that glitter, Christmas is just around the corner.

I love your princess party idea! Looks like things went off very well. Being a veteran preschool teacher myself, I give you many props for hosting this kind of thing. It's not as easy as you made it look! As for glitter, I find it's a lot like sand. Even many months after your last trip to the beach, sand will turn up in the most unexpected places *hehehe

My almost-four-year-old would totally dig the princess party. What a fab idea. One of her presents for her upcoming b-day is a 50% off princess costume from Old Navy--I'm betting that'll trump any other gifts :) These girls and their glitter...it's pretty fun.
